A total of 108 players from 2017/18 PL are representing their countries at FIFA tournament in Russia this summer

More than 100 players who were part of the 2017/18 Premier League have been on international duty at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

In total, 108 players from the squads of the 20 clubs in the 2017/18 Premier League were selected by their national teams.

All but five of the 32 countries picked at least one PL player. Aside from England, whose whole squad of 23 players come from the Premier League, Belgium are the country with the next most PL representatives.

Roberto Martinez, the Belgium coach, selected 12 players from Premier League clubs.

The host nation, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay, Iran and Panama are the only nations without a PL representative.

A further 11 players who are set to feature in the 2018/19 Premier League are also at the tournament, which kicked off on 14 June.

These include Leicester City's new right-back, Ricardo Pereira, and the new Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio, who are in Portugal's squad, and Switzerland captain, Stephan Lichtsteiner, who has agreed to join Arsenal.
